Recreation day for families
2017
A community-driven initiative brought families together for a day of fun and educational activities, including outdoor sports and creative experiences like henna painting. The event fostered a joyful atmosphere, strengthened community bonds, and created lasting memories for children and their parents.




Domestic violence project
2019
A project in Hammersmith and Fulham raised awareness about domestic violence within ethnic minority communities through educational workshops and support services that addressed cultural, linguistic, and economic barriers. By partnering with local agencies such as social services and the Metropolitan Police, the initiative supported refugees, couples, and young people, offering vital resources, reducing stigma, and delivering life-changing assistance.
Food distribution for the elderly
15 March 2019
In response to the challenges of COVID-19, an initiative was launched to deliver food and essential supplies to elderly women living alone. This act of solidarity offered critical relief and comfort, strengthening community resilience and compassion during the pandemic.




Hearing camp in Chad
19–26 June 2021
Hope for African Organisation held Chad’s first hearing camp, providing free hearing aids to individuals who couldn’t afford treatment abroad, with support from audiologists, an ENT consultant, and a project manager. Distributing 400 hearing aids, the initiative was a powerful, transformative experience that highlighted hearing as a fundamental human right and set the stage for future efforts to combat hearing impairment in Chad.
Early pregnancies project
October 2021
Launched in October 2021, this project, run in partnership with the Community Fund, aimed to reduce early pregnancies among refugee and young girls. Through workshops and educational sessions, participants learned about the risks of teenage pregnancy, its social impacts, and available support. By the end of the project, many felt empowered to make informed choices, paving the way for healthier, more confident futures.


Drug Misuse Awareness
March 2023 – February 2024
Launched in March 2023, this project focused on educating young people about substance misuse through bi-weekly workshops and one-to-one support sessions. By raising awareness and equipping participants with practical tools for prevention, the programme empowered them to make healthier choices and helped reduce substance-related harm in the community.
Food Distribution for Sudanese Refugees
2023
In 2023, we launched an unfunded initiative to support Sudanese asylum seekers and others by providing traditional Sudanese meals. More than just nourishment, the project offered a comforting taste of home, fostering a sense of community and cultural connection among displaced individuals during a time of great need.


Support for Older Adults Project
April 2024 – August 2025
Launched in April 2024, this project offers advocacy and domestic support to older adults from ethnic minority communities in Hammersmith, Shepherd’s Bush Green, and White City. By tackling isolation and improving access to essential services, the initiative has boosted mental well-being, confidence, and social connection—helping build a stronger, more inclusive community.


Wellbeing Shop
August – September 2024
Running from late August 2024, this short but impactful programme supported adults in building more fulfilling lives. With sessions on career challenges, adapting to life in a new country, and finding happiness, the project—attended by 20 participants and led by an inspiring speaker—offered practical tools to boost well-being and life satisfaction.
Empowering Second Chances
November 2024
Launched in November 2024, this one-day programme supported young ex-offenders aged 16–24 from minoritised communities in rebuilding their lives after rehabilitation. Through life skills training, mentorship, and employment support, the project helped reduce the risk of reoffending and empowered participants to contribute positively to their communities.
